Our Courses

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

(This unit HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation supersedes the previous competency HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Cardiac arrest is a medical emergency that can lead to death. With urgent medical care to restart the heart, survival is possible.

Quick decision making to recognise and assess a cardiac emergency, call for medical assistance and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures will increase the chance of survival for a person who is unconscious and not breathing normally.

In this CPR course, you will learn these skills, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, including using an automated external defibrillator (AED), how to rotate first aiders with minimal interruptions to compressions, and what to do if the casualty regurgitates or vomits.

The course also covers conveying accurate incident details when handing the casualty over to emergency services, how to review an incident, to recognise any psychological impacts on self and other rescuers, to seek help if required and for improvement of own personal skills and response times.

Head2Toe First Aid is an emerging leader in the field of CPR and First Aid training.

EBL Disability Services is very fussy about engaging the best providers to train our employees. Our organisation is responsible for the health and safety of hundreds of people living with disabilities who have complex associated health conditions.
After years of searching for the ‘best in class’ we have engaged Head2Toe First Aid as our preferred provider.

Head2Toe First Aid is an emerging leader in the field of CPR and First Aid training. They provide cost effective tailored training that is engaging, practical and relevant.

What impresses us most about Karyn and the Head2Toe team is that they genuinely empower our employees to confidently respond in the most challenging situations. The equipment used in the CRP training ensures that employees know what to do to keep people alive until medical intervention can be provided. We are particularly impressed with Head2Toe manikins that give our employees immediate feedback about their attempts to achieve the right rate and depth of compressions. This methodology allows us to closely monitor each employee’s skills and abilities and to provide upskilling as necessary

 – Wendy Warren, CEO

Our head2toe First Aid training experience was exceptional from start to finish!

Quotation and booking was easy via phone calls and emails. The sign up process via the Training Desk web application gave management visibility of all trainees to make sure that prerequisite training was completed in a timely manner. Access to all certificates saved us the hassle of herding sheep to get them all together for OHS purposes.

Karyn’s training delivery on our day of training was outstanding. By utilising multiple teaching tools throughout, such as Kahoot, physical dummies and other visual aids, her delivery including personal stories and experiences kept our group fully engaged throughout. The mixture of activities and grouping of learning segments while facilitating breaks made the day fly by. Karyn was also not phased at all as trainees occasionally came and went to deal with urgent business matters.

I wholeheartedly recommend head2toe First Aid training for your personal or commercial needs and look forward to our annual refresher courses and also educating new employees with Karyn. Thank you!!
